This panda is an execise in the use of positive and negative space. According to the artist, "The lesson was to work with overlapping black and white shapes to create positive and negative spaces that were interesting and diverse. This lesson seemed perfect for the Panda. Naming it 'Yin-Yang' also seemed appropriate for a black and white animal and the bamboo leaf pattern right for the dichotomy of an animal hiding in plain sight."
