This stately panda features the likenesses of 28 different U.S. Presidents, from the familiar (Franklin Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln, and George Washington) to the relatively obscure (James Buchanan, Warren Harding, and Franklin Pierce). As for the bear's appearance, the artist stated that "many of the Presidents faces are painted in a monochrome effect rather than the customary portrait painting method using traditional local color. This adds interest and allows the overall design to flow together with the other elements."
